Biography
I’ve been an award-winning artist and art educator for many years. I earned a BFA from Rosemont College and Villanova University. I continued my education at the Philadelphia College of Textiles, receiving a Certificate in Textile Design.I moved to NYC working as a textile designer for 10+ years, developing a fresh, loose and vivid style of painting. I moved back to the Philadelphia area, returning to my love of fine art, first in watercolor and then in pastel. I taught watercolor classes for a decade.
I enjoy painting in Plein Aire trying to interpret the landscape not as a realist painter, but as an artist trying to capture the feeling and hidden colors of the scene before me. I love color and it’s evident in my vivid watercolor and pastel paintings. I predominantly paint locally, but also enjoy painting landscapes and scenes from my travels.
I continue to take workshops to grow as an artist and energize my style. My paintings have been selected for many national juried exhibitions and I have received numerous awards. I’m a signature member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and the Philadelphia Pastel Society.
